You can now add routes when using the Traveller RPG Subsector Editor. Just follow the instructions. (This also works at the Cepheus Engine and Hostile subsector editors at the Cepheus Journal website.)

Happy Valentine’s Day
Today is Valentine’s Day. Why not make a Valentine Subsector?
The Planet Valentine is the Subsector Capital. The other planets are named after Love Gods/Goddesses. The adjacent Subsectors are named after 80’s Love Songs. The Heart Nebula (a bit skewed) is used as a background. Continue reading Happy Valentine’s Day
Subsector editor
With the new mapper for the Random Subsector Generator, I could also build a Subsector Editor and Mapper.
The editor still has some limitations. It is very picky with the format. I may figure out a way to add routes and borders later.
New style for the Random Subsector Generator
The Random Subsector Generator has been updated. It now outputs an image in PNG format instead of ASCII.

The new style outputs a quite large image, 2066px × 2922px. The hexes are big enough include UWP and Trade Class. I have used a purple colour for UWP and Trade Class so that this extra information won’t stand out to much.
For the new style there are 10 types of planets. These are the same types that are used in the Traveller Universe program.
Subsector Generator Update
I have updated my Random Subsector Generator with a new “race“.
If you select Zork, you will get a subsector with planet names that are inspired by an intrepid space explorer in a very small ship (that usually crashes.)
I have used 1:st order Markov Chains to create the new names. (Higher order create too few names since we start with so few planets.)
From the comic, I also guess that the planets should be quite small and that the tech level is high. So without creating illegal values, I have added a small bias for this.
Subsector SKA-1979
On this day (19 October 1979) , 40 years ago, the albums One Step Beyond… by Madness and the album The Specials by the Specials were released. (Read more here.) This is an ATU subsector map I made to celebrate this:
