An orgy with Jewel Staite
No, the Zhodani Base has not been hacked. I wrote about a Traveller crowd funding movie project and I thought the vanity levels looked cool. Now look at the vanity levels of this crowd funding movie project called How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town! For even less money than you would have to spend to party with the crew of the Traveller movie, you get to party with Jewel Staite (a.k.a. known as Kaylee from Firefly).
I am a fan of the Firefly since the style of that show is so close to my own Traveller gaming adventures. Kaylee as the engineer of the ship was one of my favourite characters. (Not only because she is so pretty.) Now she will be in a Canadian crowd funded movie.
Jewel Staite also runs a foodie blog and one of the vanity levels in this crowd funding project was to go out and eat with her in Vancouver. If I had lived in America, I would have supported this project at that level. Have you noted that Jewel and I are at the same restaurant in Paris in the pictures in the right column at our blogs.
If you cannot get enough of Jewel State you should also have a look at this charity work for Breast Cancer Research that she did. (Yes, she is nude in a tub.)
BeRKA is back
BeRKA is back from Paris. What science fiction related things have I done there?

We visited Musée d’Orsay where we looked at Renoir paintings. Another Renoir painting, Luncheon of the Boating Party was significant in the Amélie film. We visited the café where Amélie worked. In the Valérian and Laureline comic book called On the False Earths the final panel is an homage to this painting. We also visited Centre Georges Pompidou which is a location in the Valérian and Laureline comic book called Brooklyn Station, Terminus Cosmos.

I bought this rocket ship from the The Adventures of Tintin comic Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon.

Veronica and I visited Le Café de Paris. (This shouldn’t be confused with Café de Paris in Geneva that makes the famous sauce.) Jewel Staite (from Firefly) has also been here. You can see that in an image at her blog Happy Opu. Now I am Happy P-O.

You can (if you know Swedish) read more about our visit to Paris at the berka.se blog.
