It was active on the google.se and co.uk and ei, fr, dk, es, pt, fi, is, nl, co.nz, and com.au domains. (But not at google.com.)

BeRKA is back
BeRKA is back from Paris. What science fiction related things have I done there?
We visited Musée d’Orsay where we looked at Renoir paintings. Another Renoir painting, Luncheon of the Boating Party was significant in the Amélie film. We visited the café where Amélie worked. In the Valérian and Laureline comic book called On the False Earths the final panel is an homage to this painting. We also visited Centre Georges Pompidou which is a location in the Valérian and Laureline comic book called Brooklyn Station, Terminus Cosmos.

I bought this rocket ship from the The Adventures of Tintin comic Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon.
Veronica and I visited Le CafĂ© de Paris. (This shouldn’t be confused with CafĂ© de Paris in Geneva that makes the famous sauce.) Jewel Staite (from Firefly) has also been here. You can see that in an image at her blog Happy Opu. Now I am Happy P-O.

Create Sci-Fi pulp covers with the Pulp-o-Mizer
The Pulp-o-Mizer is too good not to write something about. It is a front cover generator for sci-fi pulp books. I think it is a lot cooler than my LBB cover generator. Look what I can do with it:

Save our Space Marines
Space Marines is a term that has been used in science fiction since 1932. In Space Cadet by Robert Heinlein from 1948 the term is used. Games Workshop is now going after an author (MCA Hogarth) who wrote a book called “Spots the Space Marine“.

Games Workshop needs to be stopped. A boycott was suggested by two Traveller fans at the Zhodani Base Facebook page. I hope they then will understand that they cannot hijack science fiction archetypes.
It’s easy for me to boycott GW. I haven’t bought anything from them for a long time. I hope you can do the same, and spread the word. Don’t buy anything from Games Workshop until they repent their behaviour and drop their trade mark of the term Space Marine.
Update: Good news from the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The battle is won, but the war continues.
